Tennis

On Tuesday I have a tennis mach to represent our school. I can't wait!!!! There will be lots of other scools there.

Greek Houses

Greek houses were windowless and built with stone, wood or clay bricks around a courtyard.


Large houses had a kitchen and a room for bathing.

Most of the cooking and eating was enjoyed in the courtyard.






Greek Wars

The Greeks lived in small little Cities.
There were no more than 100,000 in each city. Sometimes other people invaded Greece and then the Greek men would have to go and defend their city.






Greek Farming


In ancient Greece it was difficult to grow crops and plants because of the amount of soil in the area. The main crops that grow are barley, grapes and olives. Grain crops such as barley and wheat were planted in October and were harvested in April or May. Also olives were harvested in November and through to February. Normally grapes were picked in September. Barleys were the main cereal crops for the farmers to eat. They made the barley into porridge or ground it to make flour to make some bread. The olive oil was used for cooking oil. Grapes were used for wine but they could have been eaten or dried into raisins.
